Hello GFU Students! My name is Kelly and I am the childcare coordinator for MomCo in Newberg. We are looking for childcare providers for kids 6 months through 6 years of age, with lessons for 3 years and older. You can volunteer or be paid for your time. MomCo meets September through May at Northwest Christian Church, the 2nd Monday of each month from 8:30- 11:30am. Seeing as class schedules change semester to semester, feel free to fill out the application at the beginning of the year. If your first semester schedule doesn’t work, you can still be cleared to work the following semester if your schedule allows it. My husband and I are in search of someone who could come walk and play with our springer spaniel 1x per week. We are both George Fox graduates and live in Newberg, not too far from campus. We would like him to be walked around noon and do ~ 30 min walk. There will be occasional weeks where we do not need a walker, and other weeks that we may need you twice. Both my husband and I will be teaching on campus every Tuesday/Thursday this semester from 8a-3p and we’re hoping to find some dog-loving students who would benefit from a bit of canine therapy on campus during our work hours. We hate to leave Murphy home alone, bored all day long so ideally we’d find someone(s) to hang with him for any stretch of time they’re able to give on their T/TH. He loves going for walks, playing fetch, playing some tug-o-war or keep-away, working on a trick, learning a new skill, or even some hide-and-seek with treats (his favorite). If anyone knows they like to get outside and touch grass everyday and would simultaneously enjoy giving a dog the best time of his life every Tuesday and/or Thursday (between 8a - 3p), we’d love to hear from you! A bit about Murphy….He is an almost 2 year old “mini golden.” He’s half Golden Retriever, a quarter Cocker Spaniel, and a quarter King Charles Spaniel. He’s 23 lbs and is super friendly. He loves playing fetch with a stick or frisbee (evidently not much of a ball guy), he loves a good walk to visit his best friends (literally anyone), he loves to show off his tricks skillz (for little rewards). He’s not much of a barker, thankfully. He can sometimes be shy or timid around crazy dogs/people, but generally loves to say hi (and will hide by your side if he feels scared). He has good recall and is truly just the sweetest boi ever. Our goal is to keep him close with on of us as our workday permits on T/TH, but also welcome safe, kind students who wouldn’t mind giving (even 20 mins of) their time to take him and have a little adventure for a bit. Ideally we’d set up a fairly consistent weekly thing with any number of interested students, and can text on M/W to confirm availability for the following day.
