Chapter Director for Mid-Columbia Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship

The Mid-Columbia Chapter, located in The Dalles, Oregon, encompasses a six county area in rural eastern Oregon. The chapter straddles the Columbia River with two counties in Washington State and four in Oregon. The area is rural with its population spread out but this thriving chapter knows that all children are important to God. Our retiring director started as a board member and has been the director for fifteen years. We, as a board, look forward to what God has in store for the ministry moving forward. So what are we looking for? First, and most importantly, is that the Director must have a demonstrated love for Jesus Christ, be passionate about children and have a sense of God’s calling to mission of children’s ministry. Personal Responsibilities:  Have a demonstrated love for Jesus Christ, commitment to prayer, a lover of The Word of God, and an unquestionable passion to reach kids with the Gospel.  Be a continual learner, relevant strategist, love people and demonstrate an understanding of how to lead and build teams that are diverse in skill, experience and culture.  Love the local church and other Christian organizations and value them as ministry partners  Have the ability to fund gather or raise support for the two-fold purpose of the director’s salary and promoting the support of CEF. Ministry Responsibilities:  Understand that the foundation of ministry is prayer and lead by example in being committed to developing and growing an effective local prayer program.  Aggressively pursue and promote partnerships with schools, churches and other community groups to increase and sustain vibrant Good News Clubs, 5-Day Clubs, party clubs, and opportunities for community engagement.  Recruit staff and volunteers, ensuring that they are adequately trained and equipped for ministry.  Maintain direct ministry contact with children through CEF activities.  Build and maintain a Christian Youth in Action (CYIA) ministry by identifying students and participating in CYIA as assigned by the state leadership. Leadership Responsibilities:  Work with the local committee in providing vision and strategic plans for evangelizing all children within the chapter boundaries.  Meet regularly with local committee, staff and volunteers for the purpose of encouragement, direction, training and planning.  Work with local committee to raise funds for the ministry. Administrative Responsibilities:  Ensure that all CEF policies and procedures are followed and proper governance is maintained.  Keep accurate and complete records  Work with the local committee to develop and submit an annual budget to the state director for approval  Ensure that all reports, minutes, communications, money and donor receipts are submitted as required  Communicate accurately about the chapter condition to the state director, local committee and office staff  Communicate with supporters of the ministry on a regular basis about how God is moving in the ministries of the local chapter.
