Hours: This is a part-time position, generally scheduled Monday–Thursday between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with additional daytime or weekend hours as assigned. Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Gymnastics Instructor to join our team! In this role, you will lead a variety of gymnastics classes across different skill levels, from introductory to more advanced sessions, creating a positive, supportive environment focused on fun and development. You’ll help young athletes build confidence, enjoy movement, and achieve their individual goals. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance between teaching fundamental gymnastics and helping advanced students refine their skills. Responsibilities Plan and lead gymnastics sessions that balance skill development with fun, catering to a range of experience levels, from beginners to advanced students. Use engaging games, drills, and progressions that introduce gymnastics basics while keeping sessions exciting for younger athletes. Develop training exercises that challenge and motivate more advanced students to refine their skills and reach personal goals, while ensuring enjoyment and positivity remain central. Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages children of all skill levels to explore gymnastics, build friendships, and support each other. Provide individualized feedback and positive reinforcement to support each child’s growth, focusing on both enjoyment and safe skill progression. Communicate with parents and guardians to share each child’s progress, answer questions, and discuss goals. Assist with general gym maintenance, equipment setup, and cleanup to maintain a safe, organized environment for training. Preferred Qualifications Experience in gymnastics, cheer, physical education, or similar athletic programs, especially with teaching or coaching youth at various levels. A balanced approach to coaching that combines technical knowledge with a focus on creating an enjoyable, supportive atmosphere. Knowledge of gymnastics principles, training progressions, and safety protocols across beginner to advanced levels. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, approachable style for working with children, parents, and staff. A genuine interest in nurturing young athletes' skills, confidence, and love for gymnastics, no matter their starting level. CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days of employment. We can provide access to a district-sponsored course at no cost, though attendance hours are unpaid.
