SUMMARY STATEMENT: 

The caregiver is responsible for providing quality care that meets the needs of clients and their families.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

· To oversee the health and safety of client during care

· Ability to attend to fully assist with toileting and hygiene care. This includes changing diapers, giving showers as needed, and dressing young adults

· Extremely responsible, reliable, and above reproach with strong character

· Effective communication with parents and other caregivers

· Communicates directly with parents

· ½ day or full day shifts available – employer is flexible if changes are scheduled and communicated early

· Competency in meal preparation

· Lite housekeeping and upkeep as it pertains to the care of the clients

· Occasional weekend care a plus

· Must connect with client from day one

· Must be fun, patient, kind and loving

· Must treat the client with courtesy, dignity and respect

· Must have reliable transportation, valid ODL and valid vehicle insurance

· Must be able to converse in basic English – ESL ok

· Must have a reliable cell phone/continuous service



BACKGROUND CHECK/REFERENCES:

· Must be able to pass background check including driving records (no major citations)

· Must provide two letters of reference from three non-family members that can vouch for your work ethic, integrity, honesty and character.
