With the passing of our pastor, Bellfountain Community Church is seeking a lead pastor
to serve God in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range. This is a unique opportunity for
someone seeking a rural/family/community oriented ministry. The church team includes
an elder board, part-time secretary, other church leaders, and congregation members.
Starting date is flexible.
The Bellfountain Community Church has been a part of the South Benton County Area
since at least 1856. The church building itself dates back to 1899. This is an inter-
denominational church serving a rural community with farming, ranching, forestry,
Christmas trees, and vineyards.
Church core beliefs are outlined in the Bellfountain Community Church Constitution and
include: a reliance on the Bible as the authoritative Word of God; the belief in one God
existent in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and the atoning death and resurrection of
Jesus. A complete Statement of Faith is on the church website. The motto for
Bellfountain Community Church is: Enjoy God, Love People, Serve the World.
About 80 people attend Sunday church services and others from the community attend
the numerous church activities. Church activities include AWANA and Vacation Bible
School; high school youth program; separate men’s and women’s Bible studies; and
children's church. The church also sponsors other activities such as youth, women’s,
family camps, and retreats.
The church property and buildings include a pastor’s parsonage. Across the road the
church owns a gymnasium, school building, storage buildings, sporting field and baseball
diamond, and playground and tennis/basketball courts.
Possible duties include but are not limited to planning and leading the Sunday worship
service, delivering the sermon, participating in worship events and groups, coordinating
prayer requests, providing hospital visits, officiating at weddings and funerals, overseeing
the maintenance of the church grounds and buildings, and other responsibilities needed to
allow the church to meet the spiritual needs of it members. While needing to work with
the church teams, we believe that ultimately the lead pastor is accountable to God.
Above all, the successful candidate should love God and wish to serve him in
Bellfountain, Oregon. Minimum requirements include: a degree from a seminary or
Bible College, or five or more years of experience as a pastor; fluency in English,
communicates well with diverse groups; and has some experience in counseling for life
experiences such as marriage, divorce, unplanned pregnancy, addictions, and death.
Other desirable skills could include: knowledge of Greek or Hebrew, Spanish or other
languages; computer literacy; musical gifts; or other skills that assist pastoring a church
and revealing God’s love.
If you are inspired by the Holy Spirit and called to serve this rural Oregon community,
contact us at: BCCPastorSearch@proton.me Please provide an electronic version of
your resumé and supporting documents. This should include contact information
(mailing address, email address, and telephone number), educational and work history,
