Our Pastor
Our Pastor to Families pastor must be sold out to everything Jesus. You must have an up-to-
date relationship and journey with Jesus where Jesus impacts your personal life, your ministry
vision, and ministry execution.
Our Open Position
The Pastor to Families oversees the ministry directly related to families with children and
students 0-12th grades. Understanding that our family ministry must have a pastor who will
cast a family ministry vision that builds a ministry structure and strategy that leads families to
Jesus and incorporates families into the life of the church and its ministries.
The Ministry
• Develop, oversee, and equip leaders to share and serve in the HermNaz Children’s and Youth Ministries.
• Be responsible to plan, organize, promote, and participate in activities for children and
youth.
• Dream and build a weekly ministry team that would help execute weekly Children’s church
and Youth services.
• Involve children and youth in mission experiences.
• Have a plan for intentional, age-appropriate discipleship and its follow-through.
• Recruit and develop teams of volunteers who will assist in ministry events.
• Plan monthly activities and events for children, youth, and at times parents.
• Assist parents in discipling their families and reach out to those families who are not yet
part of the life of the church.
• Resource volunteers, parents, and staff with resources that help facilitate your vision.
• “Be With” (Spend time with students and leaders and mentor them).
• “Be Part” (Attend school and community events that students are part of).
• “Be Humble” (While the job focus is to families, you must humbly serve all people part of
the church and our community).
• You will also have opportunities to preach and speak at retreats.
Be A Team Player
• Work in unity with the staff team.
• Be supportive of other team members with attitude and participation in their area of
ministry when able.
• Share the ministry load outside of your ministry area and be ready to be a “utility” player as
the need arises.
• Expect the rest of the team to share your load as well.
• Resolve conflict quickly.
• Yield to and support the leadership of the Senior Pastor.
• Be ready with a positive heart to serve in other duties the Senior Pastor requests.
Serve The Church
• Must be in harmony, support, and live within the doctrine and values of the Church of the
Nazarene.
• Be faithful in tithing and supporting financially the local and the global church.
• Be present and serve at church functions.
Our HermNaz theme and focus is to “Pray, Listen, Act.” Praying asking God what He wants
us to invest in His Church. Listen to what He is saying. Act on what you heard Him say.
