This job involves caring for a 92-year-old female with age related decline. It is a part time job usually evening shift with flexibility to start and/or end time. There may be a need for a short shift during the day and is somewhat flexible to the time. Evening shift depending upon start time may involve putting the patient to bed, and possibly getting the patient up in the morning. Lots of flexibility. Overnight would mean changing patient when need be. The morning may involve assisting with feeding morning breakfast depending on the independence of the patient.
The starting rate is $18 an hour. And we would prefer a nursing student but not necessary.
Skills:
Universal precautions (will provide training)
Log pertinent information in a log book and calendar
First aid training is preferred (we will provide, if none)
Operate a Sit to Stand machine - will provide training
Stand for extended periods of time
Move patient while in bed from side to side
Take direction from others as well as work alone to complete assigned tasks such as cleaning and folding clothes, dusting, sweeping the floor, etc.
