Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum’s mission is to be a force of curiosity and courage for kids of all
ages to gain the confidence to take flight. Going into our 22 nd year of operations, we are on a
trajectory to become a world-class aerospace experience center. We are seeking part time
employees to join our Guest Services crew.
We are looking for a student to support our Retail Shop part time/temporary Monday-Friday starting the
week of April 28 th for approximately 4-6 weeks. Additional weekend & summer hours may be available.
The pay rate is $16.00 per hour.
Job Summary
Guest Services sets the tone for each guest who visits the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museums. Operates a
point-of-sale (POS) system with cash register and process various transactions according to what guests decide
to participate in during their visit at EASM. This position requires an effective communicator who can provide
outstanding service to internal and external customers by demonstrating a friendly demeanor, respect,
courtesy, and empathy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets guests in a welcoming manner and applies outstanding service to all internal and external
customers each workday.
Communicates effectively with department managers, docents and other coworkers in a collaborative
team effort to best represent the Museum’s core values and mission.
Responsible for daily department operations, including but not limited to, securing cash, opening/closing
of assigned work areas, which could include Admissions, Retail Gift Shop or Theater/Concessions.
Must be flexible and willing to provide excellent guest services in more than one department, depending
on the day to day operational needs determined by department managers.
Provides accurate and helpful responses to guest questions by staying informed on EASM discounts,
coupons, promotions, and events.
Responds calmly and professionally to guest concerns and complaints by taking corrective actions by policy
or procedure or to refer them to supervision when needed.
Operates point-of-sale computer register and can process all transactions efficiently by:
o Handles large amounts of cash and credit card transactions accurately and ethically.
o Performs all daily opening, operating, and closing procedures within established guidelines,
including reconciling daily deposits, completing paperwork neatly and accurately, and balancing
register at end of shift.
o Secures register throughout shift.
When assigned, turns on and shuts down the Flight Simulator ride according to established procedures and
safety protocols.
Keeps work areas clean and tidy i.e. wipes down tables and counters, sweeps, dumps garbage, cleans 3D
glasses.
Provides accurate product information for gift shop items and responds to guests inquires timely and
respectfully.
Assists Retail Manager with keeping the gift shop well stocked and product displayed to maximize sales.
Sells admission and movie tickets, Museum memberships, and tours (including the Spruce Goose);
upgrades sales whenever possible and ask point-of-sale survey questions when necessary.
When working in the Theater, assists in the projection booth, turns on projectors and theater/lobby lights.
Adheres to all EASM policies and procedures.
Demonstrates proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Maintains the highest standards of safety possible while providing a safe, fun, and clean environment.
Reviews and completes, as needed or directed, the daily tasks list for each department: Aviation, Space,
Retail Gift Shop and Theater.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) months of cashiering, cash handling, and customer service experience is preferred.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have or obtain an Oregon Food Handler’s card within 30 days of hire.
Any combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of meeting exact qualifications.

Outstanding customer service focus in interacting with internal and external customers during assigned
shift/position.
Experience in or ability to cashier on a point-of-sale register making cash and credit transactions.
Ability to follow and make correct decisions within established procedures, especially regarding cash
handling and credit card transactions.
Ability to perform duties with and without supervision.
Ability to handle moderate periods of complex work in dealing with regular and irregular work situations,
emergency situations, and diverse personalities.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks concurrently in a demanding environment.
Demonstrates high-level of confidentiality and trustworthiness in dealing with various situations.
Good analytical thought process, including problem solving and decision-making skills and abilities.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, in person, in writing, and over the phone

needed.
