Kids First Pediatric Clinic has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Receptionist to join our pediatric care team. While medical assistant certification is preferred, we also welcome applications from individuals with excellent communication and organizational skills—even if they have no prior clinical experience.
This role is ideal for pre-med students or individuals interested in healthcare careers who want hands-on experience in a pediatric clinic. Training will be provided for all clinical and administrative procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office Duties:
Greet and check in patients; schedule appointments
Handle phone calls, prescription refills, and prior authorizations
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
Administrative Support:
Maintain organized, stocked, and sanitized exam rooms
Prepare and sterilize equipment
Order supplies and medications
Track and document proper storage of vaccines and medications
Clinical Support (Training Provided if Needed):
Prepare patients for exams and record essential information (vital signs, pulse oximetry, screenings, etc.)
Complete patient intake forms in the Electronic Medical Records and update immunization histories
Assist providers with exams and procedures
Perform and document ordered tests and procedures (e.g., rapid strep, flu, RSV, urinalysis, blood draws, immunizations)
Qualifications
Required:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Commitment to patient-centered, family-friendly care
Preferred:
Medical assistant certification (but not required)
Previous healthcare or office experience
Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare
Work Schedule
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (every other Friday)
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (every other Saturday)
